The motorcycle trails encompass state and town roads, so vehicles must be registered, street legal and drivers must be licensed. Cockaponset State Forest in Haddam and Shenipsit State Forest in Stafford both offer opportunities for dirt bike enthusiasts to participate in privately-organized enduro races once or twice a year. These competitive events are typically one day in duration and sponsored by a regional motorcycle club. Motorcycles must be registered, street legal and drivers must be licensed. Mototown USA Vehicle Types: Dirt Bike - Motocross Address: 1001 Day Hill Road, Windsor,Connecticut 06095 eMail: nemx.mototownusa.com Description: Mototown USA is America's largest indoor motocross specific riding complex. This facility offers a separate beginners track that consists of sand and natural terrain that is separate from the main motocross track. This facility added a 1/4 mile indoor dirt oval in late 2007. The oval track is used for a winter series, mini-sprints, street-stock style cars as well as flat track motorcycles. Thomaston Dam Vehicle Types: Dirt Bike - Motocross Address: 331 Hill Rd, Thomaston, Connecticut 06787 Contact Phone Number: 860-283-5540 Description: Thomaston Dam has designated trails for two wheeled dirt bikes. The trails are open from May 1st through October 14th Conditions permitting. Three and four wheel vehicles are not permitted. A cooperative agreement for trail management has been in place since 1979 with the Pathfinders Motorcycle Club. State registration is required and safety equipment is encouraged. Two small lots are available for parking at the end of the Dam. Please be considerate of others while parking.
