On July 16, 2011 the Lone Star Jeep Club held a "New Guys Run" at the Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport, Texas. This was my first trip to this off road park. According to the park website site this park offers over 25 miles of trails in various degrees of difficulty. Having visited the park I would agree. The terrain is mostly hilly and rocky. There is a nice mix of trees and dense vegetation in some areas of the park while other areas are wide open. The trees and vegetation are cut back from the trail fairly well. While my CB antenna did catch a few low hanging branches during the run I never had the sense that I am beating the brush with my Jeep while at the park.
I can't say enough good things about the Lone Star Jeep Club (LSJC). This was my first experience with this club. I am impressed with the level of organization and professionalism exhibited by the club organizers. The new members were treated very well with zero attitude exhibited towards the less experienced.
If you live in the Dallas Fort Worth area I highly recommend this park. I also suggest joining an off road club as well. The small cost of the club fee is cheap insurance to ensure you come home safely not to mention the education you get from the more experienced members.
